About Us

Our law firm was founded in 2008 by attorney Thomas Bückmann in Mülheim. In 2009 a second location was opened in Wesel.

Our central locations enable us to effectively supervise courts and mandates in the Lower Rhine region, the Ruhr area, and Westphalia.

We focus on:

In addition to the traditional handling of proceedings in areas of insolvency administration, estate administration and maintenance, and receivership, we also offer special expertise, in particular:

Bückmann Law Firm has been continuously certified since December 20, 2010. The DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 covers the scopes of insolvency administration, receivership, estate guardianship, management and execution.

In addition, we comply with the standards of ISO INSOLV for insolvency administration, in accordance with VID professional principles and the basic decisions of the Uhlenbruck Commission, as well as other requirements in risk management and procedural and law firm control.

Insolvency Administration

Insolvency administration is a core competency of Bückmann Law Firm. From doctors and pharmacists, to construction companies, service providers, food and craft businesses, to IT companies, our insolvency proceedings cover both entrepreneurs and the self-employed.

Our primary focus in processing these procedures is preserving the interests of the creditors and increasing assets by thorough analysis and assertion of insolvency claims.

The best result for creditors is usually achieved by an at least temporary continuation of the company by the insolvency administration. In doing so, we examine what long-term opportunities exist for the company in question. To this end, we develop the necessary operational restructuring measures, carry out merger&acquisition processes as required, and develop insolvency plans for small and medium-sized companies regardless of the sector, and implement them professionally and consistently. If a sustainable restructuring option does not exist, we have the necessary experience to liquidate and handle companies and businesses.

Forced Administration & Real Estate Law

A compulsory administrative procedure offers the creditor the possibility of executing real property, such as developed or undeveloped land, hereditary building rights and co-ownership (condominiums) associated with private property. The judicial appointment of a receiver shall ensure proper and value-preserving management of the property and satisfy the creditor from the proceeds.

From the management of individual residential units to the management of condominiums, commercial units, industrial sites, agricultural holdings and hotel operations, we have already proven our expertise in over a thousand procedures.

Due to our many years of experience in real estate management and real estate law, we are able to offer comprehensive support of real estate assets and assumption of tenancy mandates to enforce or defend against claims.

Probate Administration / Estate Administration / Execution of Wills

With the succession, all rights and obligations – assets and debts – of the deceased pass to the heirs. Often, however, the testamentary dispositions are unclear and the actual heirs are still unknown. In this situation, necessary decisions must be taken to secure and preserve the estate.

We have specialized in this area for many years, and responsibly handle estates of various types and sizes, maintaining an informative, friendly and qualified contact with all parties involved in the process. If companies or real estate are part of the estate, we can immediately access the expertise of other departments of our law firm.

Supported by modern software, we are able to guarantee the search, reconstruction and documentation of biographical data as well as the genealogical creation and fulfill the inheritance determination mandate.

Reorganizing and Restructuring Consultation
Many companies are forced to use cutting-edge measures to secure their market, their competitiveness and thus their ability to survive. As part of the consultation, we can prepare independent remediation reports and insolvency plans with the aim of preserving the company. Thereby taking into account all business and legal aspects that are necessary for the preparation of reorganization appraisals. In close coordination with the company management, corresponding individual concepts and plans are created according to IDW standard.

Debt Counseling
If people get into a difficult financial situation, they often need expert support. By capturing the financial situation and drawing up property law solutions, we want to ensure the elementary basic provision of those seeking advice. In doing so, we offer out-of-court debt settlement plans and, if necessary, look after the application for bankruptcy and the procedural representation in the insolvency proceedings.
